Charity balls are expensive, too expensive for the younger population of Perth. Does this mean young people don't want to be involved in raising money for great causes that affect them? No, it most certainly doesn't.

The Youth Suicide Awareness Ball was originally created in order to raise awareness about the statistics and facts surrounding youth suicide in Australia (as the name would suggest). It is an event for youths and in the service of youths.

The ball is currently being run for the second year after the success of the first. All the proceeds this year will be going to SANE Australia and you can learn more about what they do at their website www.sane.org . The committee organizing this event are all university students in Perth who are supported in their endeavours by generous organizations and individuals of the wider community.
